The Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s Community Pet Food Bank is focused on helping low-income families in need of financial assistance who can’t afford to care for their pets.
The Animal Safehouse Programm provides temporary boarded care for pets of domestic violence. Beyond caring for dogs, cats, and rabbits, the program has welcomed tortoises, chickens, snakes, rats, and a variety of other creatures as well.
The Youth Program component and other educational programs at Rancho Coastal Humane Society are a cornerstone of the organization. They teach humane education to kids, about empathy and how to treat animals. They have a robust humane education program that does everything from doing birthday parties to spring, summer, and fall camps for kids.

Kelly has worked at RCHS for the past 10 years. After graduating from UCSD, she took on the role of Customer Service Manager, then launched the RCHS Foster Care Program and ran offsite adoptions. After passing along the Foster Coordinator torch, she began chairing the annual fundraising galas and working directly with donors. She now has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and holds the title of Director of Donor & Community Relations, with tasks ranging from Payroll/New Hire Onboarding, managing the back end of the RCHS website, assisting in fundraising campaigns, and acting as a liaison for the Board of Directors.
