Owner / Founder
Adam Jacobs is a former collegiate and professional baseball player. He was the 3-time team captain and Starting Catcher at Cornell University where he earned a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management and Minored in Communication. He then went on to play baseball professionally in Australia and Hawaii. Having overcome many significant injuries throughout his playing career, he understands what it takes to sacrifice to reach for your goals. He wants everyone to have to their own opportunity to aspire to reach whatever their goals may be and therefore Adam became the Owner and Founder of Fortis Fitness & YOGALUX, a luxury Yoga and Fitness community studio to help others achieve those aspirations. Many of the pieces of equipment found at Fortis & YOGALUX were used by either Adam or his teammates throughout his career. When not greeting the great members at Fortis & YOGALUX, Adam can be found taking one of the many classes, playing tennis, coaching baseball, mentoring and collaborating on projects, or volunteering in the community at various non-profit organizations. Adam owns several residential rental properties in the San Diego area. Adam is a member of the Executive Board and Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce; he is the Chair of the Carlsbad Young Professionals; and was just named to 40 Under 40 Emerging Leaders. He is a Vice-Chair and a Board Member of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center Jacobs Family Campus and has taken on the role of co-chair of the 2022 JCC Maccabi Experience which brings 1,800 teens to San Diego for a week of athletic competition, artistic showcases, and special needs inclusion. Adam was married to Amy Jacobs on May 2, 2021, and they are expecting their first child in February 2022 to join their 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks (Ella and Zelle) and their Tortoise (Squirt). Adam’s family has set an example of success, commitment to community, as well as philanthropy that he and his family plan to continue.
