Police Chief
Police Chief Mickey Williams was born and raised in San Diego and graduated from Clairemont High School. Mickey always knew he wanted to join law enforcement and while he attended college, he was a student worker for the San Diego County Probation Department. Mickey joined the Carlsbad Police Department in 1995. Mickey has held positions in patrol, crimes of violence, vice narcotics, investigations, traffic, and administration. At the same time, Mickey worked to complete his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, achieve his master’s degree in Public Administration, both from SDSU, and was awarded his Juris Doctorate Degree (he is a licensed member of the California Bar). Mickey also attended many law enforcement educational programs to include the Sherman Block Leadership Institute, the Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Program, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy. On the home front, Mickey has been married to his wife Andrea for 25 years, they are long-time Carlsbad residents and they have two daughters, Alana and Malea.
